The Difference Between Installing and Updating

The Literary Machine is a system with three components:

• a database engine
• The Literary Machine program
• your data

The Literary Machine is a Paradox database that relies on the Borland Database Engine (BDE). Unless the BDE already exists on your computer, the installation package installs it. The much smaller update package simply replaces LM Pro files in the program directory with newer versions. For more information, see the LM Pro ReadMe file. You will find a local copy in your LM program directory.
